Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin

The Berlin State Library, built between 1967 and 1978 in West Berlin, was designed by architect Hans Scharoun. The building is a representative of the organic architecture movement of the 60s and 70s and is considered a reference building for modern libraries. The library intrigues visitors with its open landscapes of levels, platforms and staircases, as well as with its unique atmospheric natural light sources.
